Introducing
CrosStar's ATU Advance Telemetry Unit
CrosStar’s ATU Advance Telemetry Unit provides advance telemetry and control for water and wastewater systems. The design of the ATU incorporates state of the art technologies in manufacturing, communications, controls, and serviceability. With its modular design, the ATU can be cost effective as a simple Water Tank remote or scaled up to handle the complex control of sequenced filtration processes.
An ATU Advance Telemetry Unit is made up of individual modules that plug together to form the desired control and telemetry unit. A complete assembly is comprised of several types of modules according to the needs of a particular station. Module types available are several CPU processor units, digital inputs, digital outputs, RS232 or RS485 serial channels, analog input/outputs, several power supplies, modems, network, and radio modules. All modules used in the ATU have automatic addressing thus simplifying setup when adding or changing types. No switches, jumpers or pots need to be adjusted on any module in order to make it function. This includes analog modules, which are scaled automatically to the previous values upon replacement. Up to 18 input/output modules and up to 4 modem/serial/radio/network modules can be assembled as one ATU.

LiftStar™ Lift Station Monitoring System
By combining the almost unlimited capabilities of the Internet with the near universal access of Cellular Telephone, CrosStar has created the LiftStar Lift Station Monitoring System. Consisting of the LiftStar LS1000 Liftstation Monitoring Unit and the CrosStar Secure Central Computer System, the LiftStar System provides advance features only found in expensive computer controlled SCADA systems for less than the cost of a simple alarm dialing system.
But the LiftStar LS1000 is not just a “Wireless Dialer”, but a subscription-based SCADA and Application service designed for lift station monitoring. Thus it offers advance intelligent pump and alarm monitoring out of the box that other systems can not. In fact, there are no local adjustments, configuration switches, or jumpers to set on the LiftStar LS1000. With the simple information you enter on your utility's New Station Web page, and the station operation during the first week after installation, the LS1000 learns all it needs to know to properly monitor the station. Thus providing advance problem notification long before the station “breaks down” so another Sunday afternoon is not lost and expensive employee over-time is avoided.
MD-101 Bell 202 and MD-102 v.23 Modems
The MD-101 Bell 202 And MD-102 v.23 Modems are half-duplex Frequency-Shift-Keyed (FSK) audio tone modem that connects to SCADA equipment by an RS-232 Data Communications Equipment (DCE) 9-Pin Connector. The MD-101/MD-102 Modem operates from 0 to 1200 baud on private leased telephone lines, voice/audio radio links, or any dedicated two wire circuit. Both 2-Wire and 4-Wire 600 ohm telephone lines are supported along with most land mobile radios. The MD-101 & MD-102 are powered by 12 VDC to make operation during power failure simple.
MD-201 Bell 202 Modem With DF1 To HDLC Protocol Converter
The MD-201 Bell 202 Modem With DF1 To HDLC Protocol Converter is a half-duplex Frequency-Shift-Keyed (FSK) audio tone modem with integral protocol converter. The MD-201 Modem operates at 1200 baud on private leased telephone lines, voice/audio radio links, or any dedicated two wire circuit. The MD-201 has dual isolated audio ports plus a radio Push-To-Talk (PTT) output, so it can operate both telephone and radio circuits simultaneously, providing active audio mixing to prevent impedance mismatching. Both two-wire and four-wire telephone circuits can be interfaced easily to the modem. A Modified HDLC protocol is used over the audio link which interfaces to several legacy telemetry systems. The MD-201 can operate as either the telemetry master or remote.
